{"id":398,"date":"2020-09-14T13:56:33","date_gmt":"2020-09-14T12:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kbnco.names.dev.pdunsford.localdev\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=398"},"modified":"2021-01-29T13:00:52","modified_gmt":"2021-01-29T13:00:52","slug":"how-to-add-a-new-user-in-microsoft-365","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.websites-madesimple.co.uk\/support\/articles\/how-to-add-a-new-user-in-microsoft-365\/","title":{"rendered":"How to add a new user in Microsoft 365"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This article explains how you can create a new user from within the Office 365 Admin Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firstly, you will need to login to the&nbsp;<strong>Office 365 Admin Center<\/strong>&nbsp;by navigating to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/login.microsoftonline.com\/\">https:\/\/login.microsoftonline.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need to login using your&nbsp;<strong>Admin User<\/strong>&nbsp;credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Logintoadmin.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once logged in, you should see an array of applications &#8211; the options you see will depend on the Office 365 package you are currently on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need to select the&nbsp;<strong>Admin<\/strong>&nbsp;tile, as illustrated below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/clickadmin.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This will open up the&nbsp;<strong>Admin Center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next you will need to click on the option for&nbsp;<strong>Add a user<\/strong>, located under the&nbsp;<strong>Users<\/strong>&nbsp;heading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/adduser.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A new tab will open on the right hand side of the screen. From here you will be able to enter the new User name, and additional details such as the Display name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will also be able to choose whether or not you would like Office 365 to automatically generate you a password, or if you wish to choose your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/enterdetails.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Just below you will have the option to assign an Office 365 license to your new user.
